This is a type of degeneration where protein part of the
cell is affected and therebt there will be vascuolisation of cell . So , this
may be called as vascuolar degeneration . It mmay also be called dropsically or
hydropic form of cloudy swelling as it stimulates the appeartence of dropsy .
factors which are responsible for hydropic degeneration of different organs are

i)
Deficiency of potassium .
ii)
In liver – it may result form anesthesia like ether or
chloroform and from the solvents like carbon tetrachloride .
iii)
In kidney – it may result from upset of electrolytes
and water balance of the body as in
prolonged diarrhea , endocrine disorder and shock
